The first time I walked into an Operating Room I knew it was the place for me.  Now, after almost 20 years, the OR is still my choice. 

Through the years I have performed many roles as an OR nurse.  I have been Staff Nurse, Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing. I am competent as a Scrub Nurse, Circulator Nurse and First Assistant.  I have worked as an employee, a traveler, and per diem.

I spent 10 years in management positions before deciding it was not for me.  I am currently a very happy staff nurse who performs charge duties when her manager is out. 

I have collected tons of resources over the years.  I have written policy & procedure, orientation programs, competencies, QA/QI, yearly evaluations, and more. 

These resources are available to everyone for non-commercial use..  You may copy them and edit them to fit your facility's needs.  I will include instructions on how to find certain state laws that you will need to check at times.

I will publish as quickly as I can...call being the great decider of what I do in my free time.  I hope to stay home long enough (and live long enough) to share it all.
